Alias Manager Extension
Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

This privacy policy explains how the MXroute Alias Manager Chrome extension handles your data. We believe in transparency and want you to understand exactly what information is collected and how it is used.

What Data We Collect

The extension stores the following data locally in your browser:

  • API Credentials: Your MXroute server hostname, username, and API key
  • Email Addresses: Forwarding destinations you configure for each domain
  • Alias History: Records of aliases you create, including the alias name, domain, destination, creation date, and the website where it was created

Where Data Is Stored

All data is stored in Chrome's sync storage, which is encrypted and tied to your Google account. If you are signed into Chrome, this data syncs across your browsers. The extension does not maintain any external database or server for storing your information.

What Data Is Transmitted

The extension communicates only with your MXroute mail server via the DirectAdmin API on port 2222. These communications are used to:

  • Verify your credentials
  • List your domains
  • Create, list, and delete email forwarders (aliases)

All communications with your MXroute server are encrypted using HTTPS.

  • We don't track your browsing activity
  • We don't sell or share any data with third parties
  • We don't use any third-party services
  • We don't display advertisements

Data Retention

Your data remains stored in your browser until you:

  • Delete it through the extension settings
  • Uninstall the extension
  • Clear Chrome's extension data

Your Control

You have complete control over your data. You can view, modify, or delete any stored information through the extension's settings page at any time. Uninstalling the extension will remove all locally stored data.
